I don't even have opinions or anything clever to say. I just wanted to do better than like this article, I wanted to "whoa" it:

WHOA.

I’m so glad you said it first. I was like how do I respond? 🤯

I read a magazine called Delayed Gratification, it’s the entire world news three month after it happened (and issued quarterly). Because of this, it provides a very zoomed out perspective and I feel like the world is getting better. But when I was zoomed in on the daily news, I felt like things were getting worse. It’s only perspective. Unfortunately the alarmist perspective is more lucrative 🥺

Nice! It takes a special effort to snap out of our usual state of mind when reading the news, but it's worth doing. For instance I like to remember that if something is *news*, it's almost always because it is *unusual* and therefore not a good reflection of how the world really is.

As the saying goes, truth is not a matter of consensus. Things are getting better, and it doesn't matter what polls claim. Nice article.
